Mental Health UK is here for anyone experiencing a mental health problem. We are made up of four organisations based in each of the four nations of the UK, working together to improve mental health.

Story

As part of our GIA’s annual fundraising efforts Kerry Sloan, Des Docherty and Alan Davidson from our Edinburgh office are getting together to raise money for our charity of the year, Mental Health UK.  They are all running in the Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run which is Scotland's largest mass participation event and a great community based event for the Group.

Having taken up running 3 years ago I wanted to set myself a challenge. I am aiming to complete 3 Half marathons in 22 days - running the Great North Run on 10th September, the Scottish Half marathon (in East Lothian) on 24th September and the Great Scottish Run in Glasgow on 1st October. I'll also be running the Family Mile at the Great Scottish Run with my 6 year old daughter on 30th September, bringing the total to over 40 miles in 3 weeks.

I may not think of myself as a "real" runner, but I love my time out when I run, and have no doubt that it promotes a healthy mind as well as body.

Any donation helps - thank you xxx
