Story
I am going to play tennis for 12 hours from 8am-8pm because...
Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see.- Mark Twain
I come from a town in northern Romania, Radauti, and as a child I was passionate about sport, especially tennis. I used to wake up early in the mornings to play tennis for 7-8 hours. Since then, my passion for this sport has continued to grow, and last year I was thrilled towin the trophy for "Most Improved Adult" from the Kenton Lawn Tennis Club.
I now want to help children discover their own passions just as I discovered mine. This is why I support the work that the "Hannah" foundation who aim to do this by organising educational camps and other recreational activities.
I was fortunate enough to have an easy childhood. I didn’t have to work hard in the fields, take care of animals or look after younger siblings, which is the case for the majority of the children which attend the “Hannah” foundation’s camps. This has made me realize how lucky I am.
I think that playing tennis for 12 hours and so gathering funds for a camp that offers these children the chance to smile. These kids work hard for their families to survive, often at the expense of their own childhood. For these children who come from a totally different world, the Western lifestyle is only a dream, but the Hannah foundation gives them a chance to enjoy stories, games, drama, painting and good fun/time that every child deserves.
If you feel able to sponsor my tenisathon and support of this foundation, please do. It would be great for us to work together to support these children.
