London City Mission (LCM) is local and are celebrating their 180th Anniversary this year.

You'll find LCM where people are. Their teams work across London in community centres, cafes and schools. They knock on doors, visit people, helping and supporting in any way they can.

Communities across London are diverse and each has its own challenges. The teams are there for the long run. No day is the same, but they are often found answering questions and helping people with personal or practical problems.

Webber Street is a long-term homeless project based near Waterloo.

The causes of homelessness are varied and complex, but the impact on people is tragically easy to understand. The team at Webber Street seek to meet the physical needs of the homeless with cooked breakfasts, cups of tea and coffee, hot showers and clothing. These are everyday things that most of us take for granted, but these simple acts of grace are transformative for the guests at Webber Street, restoring some of the dignity that life on the streets has taken from them. As one of our guests said, “Normally people look down on you but here, for three hours a day, I can forget I’m homeless.”

Now look, I am no spring Chicken and I'll be honest, I am battling to train due to a string of injuries including a recurring metatarsal fracture. But that won't stop me - I am determined to do this justice!!
