Citi's Great Wall of China Trek - Signature Challenge 2019 · 21 September 2019

Place2Be is a children's mental health charity that works to improve the emotional wellbeing of children and young people. We help them to cope with wide-ranging and often complex social issues including bullying, bereavement, domestic violence, family breakdown, neglect and trauma.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page!

In September we will be participating in a challenging five-day trek covering 36km of the Great Wall of China, with the aim of raising £67,500 for Place2Be.

100% of the funds raised will go directly to Place2Be. This trip is being funded by myself and Citibank in order to ensure that all donations are given straight to the charity.

I have never done any hiking before, and so I am nervously looking forward to the challenge itself, and the training I'll be doing in order to make it through intact! I'm particularly wary of the 1,000 (near vertical) step "heavenly ladder" on day 6.... hopefully there will be a slide at the top to get us down the other side!

I am trekking for the charity Place2Be, which provides emotional and therapeutic support services in schools across the UK. They use techniques such as talking, creative work and play therapy in order to help the children suffering with mental distress.

Full information on the charity and their services can be found on the following link - www.place2be.org.uk/what-we-do.aspx

It's a fantastic charity with an excellent cause, so I appreciate any donation you can make - large or small. All of your personal details are safe with JustGiving, and they never sell your details or send any spam or unwanted emails.

Thank you so much for your support!
