As Team "Eiffel Off Me Bike", Adam & I are cycling from London to Paris (500km in 4 days!) to raise money and awareness for Alzheimer's Society. Unfortunately, my fantastic Mum was diasgnosed with AD two years ago and I now really know what a heartbreaking disease it is. Watching Mum struggle to remember things, and the difficulty she has in carrying out everyday tasks, is just a small part of this horrid disease.

Alzheimer's Society is dedicated to defeating dementia in many ways. They use funds to research into the cause, cure, care and prevention of dementia to improve treatment for people today and to search for a cure for tomorrow. Delaying the onset of dementia by 5 years would reduce deaths directly attributable to dementia by 30,000 a year.(www.alzheimers.org.uk).

The hardest part of all is knowing that one day my lovely Mum will not know who I am and, by doing this cycle ride, we hope to help make a difference for families who need support and care to fight this devastating disease in the future.

So, please dig deep and help us to raise as much money as we can.

Thank you! :-)

Love Marika xx

SOMETHING EXTRA SPECIAL:  I don't know how, perhaps because we reached £2000 so quickly, but I have persuaded Ad that the pair of us are to accessorise in NuRave-Neon each day of our bike ride....bring on the fluffy leg warmers and tutu! :-)
