Story

Hello! My name is Ekiñe Fernandez and I'm a deputy manager in Aldi in Lake on the Isle of Wight. As part of the Aldi work force we have been asked to join in the 'Zip Wire for Stephen' event and me and two of the store assistants Tash and Jo have decided to do it! So now we need to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust!

In September, 2019 ‘Zip Wire for Stephen’ will be attempting to set a new Guinness World Record in memory of Teenage Cancer Trust ambassador and fundraiser Stephen Sutton, who tragically died five years ago this May. The event is the brainchild of Jane Sutton, Stephen's mum and Teenage Cancer Trust ambassador, who has committed to continuing Stephen's work since his death!

Stephen was an inspiration to so many people and we want to do him proud by hoping to move Stephen's fundraising total above £6 million through the support of the 'Zip Wire for Stephen' campaign.

Aldi partnered up with TCT in January 2017 and set a goal of 5 million in 5 years and we have so far reached over 3 million much sooner than expected so goes to show how amazing our customers and employees are!

We will be holding a couple of fundraising events and collections in the Lake Store during the next few months to help us reach the target of £500 or more which will hopefully bring the stores total to over £1000 so I would like to thank every single person that has donated so far and will be hopefully donating after reading this ❤️

Teenage Cancer Trust is the only UK charity solely focused on supporting young people aged 13-24 living with cancer. Through their work they support patients living with cancer, as well as parents, teachers and employers to raise awareness of early warning signs and treatments
