EVERY 90 SECONDS someone in the UK is admitted to hospital with an acquired brain injury (ABI). There are many possible causes, such as a fall, a road traffic accident, an assault, a tumour or a stroke. A brain injury can happen to anyone, at any time. When it does, we're here to help

Story

Until a few weeks ago we didn't own a tandem.  Until this afternoon, we had never ridden a tandem.  Eleven weeks today we will ride the Ride London-Surrey 100 - 100 miles on the London 2012 Olympics cycling road race route.

We are raising money for Headway and, through Phil's Just Giving page (www.just giving.com/pjbutler37406RideLondonSurrey1002014), the Forces Families Federation in support of the Fraja Ellie Appeal.

This is the Headway story:

Headway (UK) - the brain injury association. Each year, approximately one million people visit A&E departments following a head injury, with 135,000 people admitted to hospital due to the severity of their injuries. Head injury is the foremost cause of death and disability in young people today.
