Story

I decided in an implusive impulse of impulsion to walk the length of the London Underground Northern Line from Morden to Edgware in one day. And then to walk Kennington to High Barnet via Bank on another day to seal the deal.

Then I figured that if I'm going to do something as silly as this, I may as well do it for a good cause, right?

WHERE?

I plan to start from Morden at the beginning of the day, and make it to Edgware for the end of the day. Due to the branching nature of the line, I've opted to do this route via Charing Cross, and then cover the Bank section in a second walk to take in Mill Hill East AND High Barnet.

WHEN?

Morden-Charing Cross-Edgware: one day in the week beginning 18th March 2013, weather permitting.

Kennington-Bank-Mill Hill East-High Barnet: one day in the week beginning 25th March 2013, weather permitting.

WHY SHELTER?

With the government introducing the bedroom tax, the housing charity Shelter seemed like as good a choice as any, though in all honesty things are bad right across the picture at the moment. So every little helps (especially when not spent at Tesco). Let's see if my ridiculous method of tiring myself out can help raise just a bit to help out...

 WHY THE NORTHERN LINE?

Walking the Central Line in a day would be all-but-impossible, walking the Waterloo & City Line in a day would be easy enough that if I bought a coffee at Waterloo, I'd finish it around the same time I finished the walk. The Northern Line sits in between the extremes, providing a challenge without being so difficult that it wouldn't work.

Plus, finishing at Edgware makes it easier for me to get home afterwards. I daresay I'd be a bit tired.
