At Macmillan, we will move mountains to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can. We’re doing whatever it takes. But without your help we can’t support everyone who needs us. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

We lost our Uncle Nick, age 52, last year to rare genetic condition MENS1.  The youngest of three brothers, he lost his own mum when he was 24 and growing up Nick was more like a big brother to me.  A loving family man, a superb golfer, loved his motor bike and lived life as fully as he could to the end.  He has two boys, Ruari age 22 and Rob age 20, who are his pride and joy and his partner Lynn (Auntie Lynn) who is an angel.  Nick visited the local MacMillan support group near Linlithgow every week and devastatingly this support group closed just before he passed away.  The MacMillan support groups are invaluable services and that is why as a family we are running the half marathon and kids races in support of MacMillan and in memory of our Uncle Nick.
