In July 2010, from the 5th to the 10th, along with a motley crew of fine folk, I'll be walking the full 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall in just 6 days. That's the entire width of England!

We'll be walking an average of 14 miles a day and sleeping in youth hostels, bunk barns and even partaking in a bit of camping (of the kind that involves tents and sleeping bags).

Hadrian's Walk has been organised to raise funds for The Joseph Salmon Trust. The charity, based in Huddersfield, helps out bereaved parents in the devastating aftermath of losing a child and offers financial assistance for the things no parent plans for, such as funeral expenses and headstones.

The work that The Joseph Salmon Trust do is invaluable. Losing a child is every parents worst nightmare, and whilst nothing can ease the pain and grief something, however small, can be done to alleviate the financial burden.

So, I'll be donning my (hopefully) worn in walking boots, packing a rucksack, waving goodbye to my husband and the kids for a week, and walking those 84 miles in the hope that I can raise some much needed funds for a very worthy local charity.
