Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
Ok now for my bit:
I know you are all totally sick to death with people asking you for sponorship, but I promise I won't ask again (unless a manage to get a place in a marathon in the next few years). But i'm doing the Great South Run in October for a charity that I am willing to bet almost anything that most of you haven't even heard of, let alone donated any money to.

Pancreatic cancer is very much a forgotten, under-funded disease.
While there have been great advances in survival rates for many cancers over the past 40 years, the same cannot be said about pancreatic cancer.
Until recently the survival rates for patients with pancreatic cancer have been dismal; the 5-year survival rates have been the lowest of all the cancers.
For example, Of all those people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, about 20 in every 100 people (20%) are alive 1 year later. The 5-year survival rate was only 2% for men and 3% for women for patients diagnosed in the UK between 1996 and 1999.
Compare this with 5-year survival rates for other cancers in the same period: in men - 95% for cancer of the testis and 65% for prostate; and in women - 77% for breast, 73% for uterus and 61% for cervix. Despite this, Pancreatic cancer receives almost the least funding of any cancer charity.
(i'm really not trying to have a go at chairites for other cancers here by the way, just trying to show how little funding pancreatic cancer gets, especially for it's terrible survival rate)
By the time someone has symptoms, goes to their doctor and is diagnosed, the disease is very often quite advanced. Only about 15 to 20 out of every 100 diagnosed (15 - 20%) are suitable for surgery.
Most people diagnosed with pancreatic cancer are told that they have less than 1 year to live.
Pancreatic cancer UK funds research into new methods of treatment and works with patients and their families
Anyways, I'm running (and yes i mean running, i'm not asking you to sponsor me to walk) the Great South Run in October and would very much appreciate your support. Anything would help me get further towards my target!
Thank you!
