Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So please dig deep and donate now.
I know this is not the usual way round but cautious as ever I didn't want to ask for donations if I didn't manage to finish the event - but I did!
Last Sunday, 11 April I started the Paris Marathon with my partner Graham and my brother in law, Christophe. It was my third attempt at Paris. I hadn't managed to run the entire course in 2008 and 2009. I ran most of it but had to run/walk to finish. This year however I ran the whole 26.2 miles and finished in 4 hours 19 minutes and 32 seconds, not bad for an old bird. Graham and Christophe both finished well ahead of me as expected and did really well. The day was sunny and cool, the Parisien supporters were fantastique as were the imported support of my sister Kate, my nephew Romain and Graham's lovely teenagers, Mylo and Verity.
Many kind folk asked if I would be running for a cause this year when I was wittering on about training, sore feet and being hungry all the time, so I have created this page for you to donate retrospectively to Headlines if you still want to sponsor me in a backwards sort of way. Headlines is a small charity with which I have a family connection. They raise funds to provide support to people with a Craniofacial condition, as well as support for their families and relatives. Anything you give will be very gratefully received.
Thank you - Elisabeth x
