My story

Hello all,

Well, I did it and it wasn't pretty!  Thank you to everyone who sponsored me, I will be posting pictures soon for everyones amusement.

I'm not convinced that I bettered my time as a) I'm not entirely sure what the time was when I started and b) I'm not entirely sure what the time was when I finished.  However, I think it was around the 34 minute mark which considering that I was running with a back pack and had to play people dodge, is satisfactory.

Thank you for visiting my page.

I completed this run last year but didn't do it for charity. This year I want to complete the run in a better time and help those less fortunate than me in the process.

When I received my number for the race, I also received a list of charities looking for support. Able Child Africa (www.ablechildafrica.org.uk) is not a charity I have come across before, but having read about the work they do and what they are trying to achieve, I decided that this would be my charity for this run.  The charity says "we estimate that 50 million children and young people in Africa - that means 1 in 8 yound people on the continent - are living with a disability.  The involvement of disabled children and young people in Africa's development is not an option - it is a necessity".  £5 will pay for a 3 month supply of drugs for a child with epilepsy, while £20 will pay for a month's schooling for a young disabled child.
