Curt and I are running for Lily who was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma when she was 20 months old in August 2013. It is a rare, aggressive type of cancer, affecting only 100 children a year in the UK and early detection is paramount to successful treatment. Symptoms are similar to many common childhood illnesses which means it is often misdiagnosed. It was the persistence of Lily's parents with the doctors that has literally saved Lily's life; it has hopefully been caught early enough to treat successfully.

By running the half marathon we are hoping to raise awareness of this awful disease. If we can enable just one parent to catch it early & save their child's life, then something good can come out of everything brave little Lily, her parents, siblings, grandparents & the rest of her family have endured. 

We realise that we have asked you for your money in the past to support our running antics and really appreciate your generosity and continued interest (genuine or not!) in our endeavours.
