Mutt Strutt for Bath Cats and Dogs Home · 27 September 2009

Every cat and dog should enjoy a healthy life and a happy home. Through advice and support in our community, to rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming at our centre, we positively transform the lives of pets.

More about Bath Cats and Dogs Home...................

Since the Home opened in 1937 tens of thousands of unwanted animals have been saved from cruelty, homelessness and destruction.

Bath Cats and Dogs Home is one of the largest animal re-homing centres in the UK caring for over 350 animals (dogs, cats and small animals) at any one time at a cost of over £3,000 a day. They pride themselves on their strict non-destruction policy and aim to find every single animal a loving home, no matter how long this may take.

The centre receives no government, lottery or RSPCA funding and therefore the £1.2 million annual running costs are funded exclusively by voluntary donations and gifts in wills.

For the Autumn Mutt Strutt, the animal charity is hoping to raise crucial funds towards its £3,000 daily running costs needed to care for the 3,000 unwanted dogs, cats and small animals, which are re-homed each year. The course is either 3 or 6 miles, participants can walk needy dogs from the home or take their own pets along. I will be walking our Lurcher Seb who was himself a rescue dog who we rehomed in April this year. He is in much better shape than me though and I am certain will be able to run rings around me once the walk has been completed.
