Cord is an international charity that works with people in highly sensitive and oppressive contexts to transform dysfunctional relationships into those that create peaceful & inclusive societies. Our vision, mission and values are inspired by the Christian faith. Our Vision is of a world where all people live in the fullness of peace; having the freedom to flourish and live free from fear. Our Mission is to transform dysfunctional relationships between individuals and communities and those holding power into positive and thriving relationships built on mutual dependency and trust. Cord works in partnership with local community based organisations to develop their skills, knowledge and expertise with a view to enabling them to more effectively advocate on behalf of communities with government, private companies, and others with power and leverage to impact the quality of life of disadvantaged communities.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

 

On 6 September my sister in law Charlotte, and I will be running in the Bristol Half Marathon.  We were looking for a challenge and we have found one - 13 miles!!  Please help me make my challenge really worthwhile and help raise as much money as possible for CORD.

 

CORD is an international peace-building organization, based in Leamington Spa and working with people and communities affected by violent conflict in Africa and Asia.  CORD works through education and enterprise, helping people rebuild their lives and societies to create a sustainable peace:  www.cord.org.uk  For a really whacky but practical way of supporting some of the people CORD works with, look at www.toilettwinning.org
