Story
My beautiful grandaughter is 5 today. She has spent her birthday surrounded by family and friends who love her and have lavished her with gifts.
Today I also attended the premeire of "Child 31" - a documentary about the children who benefit from Mary's Meals. The contrast in their circumstances is stark. But the delighted faces of children who are happy just not to be hungry matched Sophie's birthday smiles perfectly.
Ironically the charity were selling Christmas cards as usual. I usually buy them- but instead have hatched a plan to take some Christmas spirit where it's needed more than sending cards.
At 50p for a stamp +20p (approx) for a charity card = 70p
If only 10 Christmas cards don't get sent this year the money saved would feed a child at school in Malawi for a whole year!!
So let's be Santa's elves this year and put some food in bellies and smiles on faces and help these children get an education and a hand up out of poverty and donate your Christmas card budget to Mary's Meals.
You can email, text, tweet or facebook your Christmas wishes instead.
Here's mine- Hope you all have a lovely Christmas. Blessings xx
