Story

Dear lovely, generous friends and colleagues,

BRANDON STILL NEEDS YOU!

With all your support I HIT MY TARGET and completed the ride in a stonking 5 hours flat...BUT LET'S KEEP GOING!!

EVERY £, $ OR EURO COUNTS FROM HERE ON.

BRANDON TRUST NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT

Please dig deep people,  I’m asking you to please give a little or a lot to help us really smash our target and give young people with learning difficulties employment and life skills to live their lives how they want to!!

The London to Brighton ride on 11th September was the start of a great public fundraising journey for the Brandon Trust (www.brandontrust.org) . It was a fun challenge, apparently. Everyone of the 54 miles was a real pleasure in the saddle.  The sun shone, the bike (repaired just in time) made it and so did I, with only one small accident. I'll put a photo up here soon.

PLEASE DONATE NOW... or read on if you're not convinced already. Some extra reasons to give:

1. GIVE WHAT YOU CAN, even a QUID or FIVER would help train a young person with learning difficulties to learn catering skills or join a summer camp (see below)

2. AND it would make my saddle sores more bearable!

3. And I had to wear a PINK t-shirt for the ride, yukkkk!

4. You'd make such a difference to this great charity!

As a team our minimum target is £3150. You have already helped them to smash this. To date, we have a fabulous ………………. £3,500 but we can keep going, the need for more funds is there so please don't hesitate to make a donation.

I’d like 25 FRIENDS to give A TENNER

or

FIFTY of you to give a FIVER…

or

ALL OF YOU give much, much more...

"The range of opportunities and life changing circumstances [Brandon Trust] has managed for individuals with a disability is more than creditable and remarkable"

Jo Brand – wise words from she what makes you laugh and quite probably doesn’t cycle

I did it for friendship and for a cause I'd love for you to support. It's a charity that helps young people with learning disabilities to learn life skills and live the life they want to lead.

Their funding is always at risk from government cuts so they're relying on public support to keep up the good work:

HERE’S WHAT BRANDON TRUST COULD DO (SIMPLES!)

The Funds raised from this event will be spent where there is the greatest need, for example;

£10 could buy tools for our employment and training project where people get training and skills in gardening and horticulture

£15 could buy utensils for one of our catering projects

£20 could buy 3 hours of one to one support from a Travel Buddy; enabling individuals to gain the skills and confidence to travel on public transport, overcoming isolation and building confidence and self esteem

£50 could buy arts and crafts materials enabling creative activities that encourage self- expression and develop social skills

£75 could buy 7 hours of additional support to enable an individual to get out and about and participate in social activities within their local community

£100 could pay for one day at our Summer Camp for a young person, where they will gain independence and self confidence, make new friends and learn about choices in the transition into adulthood

£120 could buy a digital camera designed around the needs of people with learning disabilities

So please dig deep and DONATE NOW!

Thanks for your time and support

Ellen x
