Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In October 2010, I was diagnosed with cervical cancer at the age of 24. I had no symptoms and was one year below the cervical screening age in England.
During this time, I was directed towards the Jo's Trust and the information and support I received from them was incredible. They introduced me to some amazing and inspiring women who helped me come to terms with my illness. Luckily, the cancer was at a stage that was treatable with surgery.
I want to give something back to Jo's Trust and raise awareness about cervical cancer in young women. I wanted to embark on a real challenge - both physically and mentally. This challenge benefits three amazing charities for womens cancer - including Jo's Trust. This challenge will take place October 2013, almost exactly three years from the date I was told I had cancer.
So cycling!! Those that know me will admit I am far from fit and those privileged enough to have seen me cycle in the past will be no doubt crying with laughter at the thought of me back on a bike! Its going to be tough!! And that’s not mentioning the sun, heat and mosquitoes!
I will be paying all travel fees, bike fees etc myself, so anything you are kind enough to donate will go directly to the charities.
