Simplyhealth Great North Run 2019 · 8 September 2019 ·
Ed Ammon - a father, husband, son, brother, uncle, mate, colleague, ten pin bowling legend, epic wedding dancer, cricket lover and player… and many many more amazing things.
If you were ever fortunate enough to meet Ed you would have liked him, everyone did. Altruistic and hilarious, strong and silent, always dependable, Ed was the glue that bonded many circles of friends.
On the 25th April 2019 a great tragedy took place; aged just 39, Ed died after an immensely brave battle with Leukaemia. Besides an army of friends and close family, Ed leaves behind his amazing wife, son (aged 6) and daughter (aged 3). What they have had to experience no family
should ever have to, but as we all know countless families do on a daily basis.
Words cannot do justice to their pain and loss but also to their resilience, strength and honour.
After Ed’s diagnosis in October last year, a group of us decided we would run the Great North Run to raise funds for Anthony Nolan Trust who do incredible work in all aspects of the battle against blood cancer and other blood disorders. Ed’s passing now makes the run even more poignant and has fired us up further to raise as much sponsorship as we can in his
memory.
So please be as generous as you can to help us raise much needed funds for a very deserving cause. We all never know what life is going to throw at us. So when loved ones might need help amazing charities such as Antony Nolan Trust are there to provide incredible support but they cannot do it without your generosity.
