So Lucy and I had this ridonculous idea 4 months ago to run a marathon. Now with training taking over our social lives and making our friends and colleagues think we are just a little bonkers the date is nearly here. I know thousands of people have run marathons before but that doesn't make ours any easier. Please show your support and make it even more worth our while by supporting Child Action Nepal.
We chose this charity as I went and lived in their orphanage for a few months when I was 18, helping to teach and look after the children. Nepal is one of the poorest and most politically unstable countries with huge rates of child poverty, malnutritrion and abandonment. A lady called Florence went to Nepal after being made redundant, and was so shocked at the conditions in other orphanages she set up her own. Florence sacrificed huge sums of money, time and her own life to set up a house to home 20 abandoned or poorly treated children. I love each of them so much even though I have not seen them for years and it would be great if in mine and Lucy's pain we could bring so much happiness to some other children half way across the globe. This money will all help towards CAN opening another orphanage. And if anyone wants a bit of an adventure I am sure the charity would love to come and have you visit.
