Hi everybody,

I have wanted to get involved in the Newman Trust for quite a few years now, and at last I'm doing something to fulfil the myriad of promises I've made!

I'm going to be doing the Great North Run on the 20th September, and anyone who knows me willl confirm that I'm no marathon runner!

So, as my first experience of long distance running, it only makes sense to ensure that it is for a great cause, and I can't think of a better one than the Newman Holiday Trust.

Knowing a number of the organisers personally, I can really appreciate the time and effort that goes into the charity. The people behind the scenes work tirelessly to provide less fortunate children with the opportunity to enjoy holidays in the UK with full supervision and professional support (which also gives the parents a well earned break!).

My lack of running prowess should go some way to helping you understand how much I appreciate the work of the Newman Holiday Trust team and volunteers, and the best way you can show your support is to make a modest (or not so modest if you're feeling flush!) donation to allow the Trust to grow and provide the support needed to give the children a great holiday.
