Rideout in aid of the NGVFA · 11 July 2010

The NGVFA is a UK charity supporting those affected by the 90-91 and 03-09 Gulf/Iraq conflicts, and the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan. Providing hands-on welfare support to veterans and their families including; counselling, tribunal representation, a respite break, and 24 freephone helpline.

Story

The East London Motor Scooter Club is  supporting the National Gulf Veterans and Families Association throughout 2010.

The NGVFA is an independent registered charity supporting those affected by Gulf War 1 and Gulf War 2 (Iraq), the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan, and all future desert conflicts.

Those affected who are supported by the NGVFA include:

  • Veterans (whether ill or not)
  • Service personnel who were vaccinated but were non-deployed
  • Armed forces personnel who are still serving
  • Family members
  • Widows / widowers
  • Civilians contracted to the armed forces

 

The charity’s mission is :

•To enhance and improve the quality of the day-to-day lives of all veterans of desert conflicts and their families, partners and carers, through support, information, advocacy and counselling.

•To provide a safe haven for veterans of desert conflicts and their families, partners and carers to be able to talk about the impact their service has had on their lives.

•To educate and provide information for the public and health care professionals to assist and improve the support and health care provided for veterans of desert conflicts and their families, partners and carers.

There will be live music from 7th Step, Trophies for Best Vespa, Best Lambretta, Best Turned Out Club, Furthest Travelled and one for the Best Shitter. Limited number of Pin Badges and Patches available at the start of the Rideout. Also the Fox @ Connaught will be open from 9.30am for Breakfast
