Joy Dadswell and Elspeth Allan are going to Peru to work with the Vine Trust for two weeks from 6th-20th October. We will be based on a ship called the Amazon Hope which is kitted out as a medical and dental surgery and which travels to remote areas of the Amazon to bring medical and dental care to communities with no access to either. We will be working with other UK doctors, dentists and nurses and will deal with a huge range of conditions, from baby vaccinations to snake bites.
We have both funded our own trips and all the money we raise will go to the Vine Trust which also helps build and run homes for abandoned boys in Peru.
