Story

Hello there

Thank you for not deleting this email! A bit late in the day, I've decided to set up a Just Giving page so that someone, somewhere benefits from my weeks of training.

Yes, I'm doing the Aviemore Half Marathon this weekend - 18th October 2009. I've never done a half marathon before so it will be a real challenge. I have done quite a lot of training ( well, lumbering along the forest tracks in Griffin forest ) but I still don't think i'm going to find it easy. I have no idea how long it will take me - well over two hours I'd have thought. And don't forget: it's harder for slow runners like me because we have to keep going for longer.

The training's been quite fun until recently, though: blaeberries in July, raspberries in August, brambles in September and now loads of mushrooms. But now it's starting to get dark quite early and runs are taking a bit too long ( yes I know...I should run faster...) so I'm looking forward to finishing in Aviemore this Sunday.

I'm raising money for a Speyside charity which helps people with disabilities enjoy the outdoors - sounds like a pretty good thing to do. Just don't make them go running . It would be great if you could make even a small donation or sponsorship promise.

I'll let you know how it all goes.

All the best

Elspeth
