My story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On the 4th April 2011, my Mum, Wendy Brazenall, passed away. She had suffered with Multiple Sclerosis for 25 years. From 1997, Mum was wheelchair bound and for the last 7 years of her life, she was quadraplegic.

I am sure that those of you who knew her would remember her for her kindness, sense of fun and ability to always look on the bright side of life.

MS is a tragic illness that affects many people in the world. There is no cure, but research into the disease continues to make new discoveries.

Ever since I was little Mum has always pushed me to do exciting things, and that is why I have decided to do this trek in her memory.

I have never been much of a walker, but I have two legs which work and I might as well put them to good use. This trail has been coined as the toughest in Canada, to see what I am letting myself in for look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/West_Coast_Trail

I am going to do it in aid of MS research. This organisation's primary aim is to..

“seek any means possible to restore to people with MS abilities lost as a result of MS and contribute to finding an eventual cure”.

There has never been a more hopeful time to find answers through stem cell and other scientific advances, new assistive technologies and heightened health care ambitions.

Please please, donate anything you can. Mum was the most amazing woman I will ever know and I am so proud to be her daughter.  Unfortunately she cannot be saved, but others can benefit from the work done by MS Research.
