Story
As many of you may know, I am no stranger to fundraising for good causes, with my major feat being climbing Kilimanjaro and raising nearly £3000 for Childreach International. Being in my final year of studying Speech and Language Therapy has meant that I unfortunately have not been able to something as grand this year, however I wanted to do something, and for an equally as important cause.
Therefore, I plan to complete "Bogle", an overnight 55 mile walk around greater Manchester set up by the university on Friday 4th March for ICAN children's communication charity.
Their mission is that no child should be left out or left behind because of a difficulty speaking or understanding - something I have seen myself first hand on my course and become passionate about. These difficulties are often "hidden" and therefore not addressed and aided, and can lead to behavioral and emotional difficulties, problems socialising and keeping up at school.
ICAN help by providing a range of services that provide help and advice to parents and practitioners about speech, language and communication and provide support for those with difficulties to help them to reach their full potential.
My aim is to raise money to help ICAN to continue their work and raise awareness of children with Speech, Language and Communication needs.
Please give generously to this amazing cause!
Thank you
Emily :)
