<p>Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.&nbsp;As most of you&nbsp;know I am off to Ethiopia in March 2012 to help build a school for&nbsp;kids&nbsp;living in poverty.</p> <p>The Background: Ethiopia is one of the poorest nations ranking 157 out of 169 countries. Only 51% of the Ethiopian population has access to safe water and 23% has access to sanitation facilities.</p> <p>It captured the attention in the 1980s when it had a horrific famine, and Sir Bob Geldof raised money to help&nbsp;people by having&nbsp;the Live Aid concerts.</p> <p>Our project: We are&nbsp;helping Remeda Two Primary School in Shebedino.&nbsp;&nbsp;It has 397 pupils (206 girls and 191 boys) aged between 6-12 years and nine teachers. The school has 6 classrooms, each of which are shared by 66 children. As you can imagine teachers find it really hard to deliver adequate teaching in such&nbsp;overcrowded conditions.</p> <p>We are traveling out there to construct an extra 6 classrooms, and one block of latrines.&nbsp;&nbsp;We're also hoping to supply all classrooms with school furniture, and&nbsp;support the setting up of a management&nbsp;training programme.</p> <p>After reading all of the above you can see why&nbsp;I wanted to be involved in such&nbsp;an amazing project, and it is a once in a life time opportunity for me.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>I need to raise &pound;1,500.00 so I would really appreciate it&nbsp;if you could help out and donate to my page.</p> <p>Thanks so much Emily x</p>
