Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Last Summer I embarked on a campaign to get myself fit and to keep me on track I entered Blenheim Triathlon on June 4th 2011. To get myself ready for this I have employed a personal trainer, been on a Bootcamp and learnt to love exercising again. In addition to the Triathlon I have also entered two open water swims - the Great North Swim and the Great London Swim, both 1 mile long. I have to say that there is absolutely no way in the world I would have been able to complete any of these challenges when I first made this commitment to do them!

In February this year a former student of mine, Alex, died after a 4 year battle with cancer. He was diagnosed in Year 13 before he took his A-levels and showed incredible courage and determination to try and beat the disease. He nominated the Bone Cancer Research Trust as the charity he would like to have money donated to. Primary Bone Cancer is a rare disease most common in active young men like Alex.

I have now completed the Blenheim Triathlon and can safely say that the knowledge that I was raising money for this charity, and in Alex's memory, helped me to keep going in the tricky bits (like the run!). Training continues now for the next event - the Great North Swim.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
