2010 Adidas Women's 5K Challenge · 5 September 2010 ·

Imagine being told that you, or someone you love, is losing their sight. In that moment, two profound questions demand urgent answers: Can this be stopped? How will I live my life? We fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas, putting change in sight for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Story

On 5 September 2010 Amelia and I will be taking part in the 5k Active Women's Challenge in Hyde Park for the sixth time.  This year we will be joined by approximately 20 ladies.

As always all money raised will go via Fight for Sight to Prof Miguel Seabra and his team at The Imperial College in London, who are actively researching Choroideremia a rare eye condition that my ten year son Tommy suffers from.

Miguel Seabra quoted in a recent press release, "The Tommy Salisbury Choroideremia Committee has greatly improved our research capability and their funding has significantly sped up the research being done, especially in gene therapy trials. As a direct consequence of their support we are now at a very exciting stage of our research into new treatments for choroideremia.”

The research is entering a very exciting phase and clinical trails will begin later this year, fingers crossed!!!
