Story

Dear Everyone

The Adnams Charity supports communities within a 25-mile radius of Southwold (home of the famous Adnams Brewery!) Altogether they’ve given over half a million pounds to hundreds of worthwhile local causes, and their aim is to make a real and measurable difference to people’s lives at grassroots level.

Adnams sets aside 1% of their annual profits to fund the charity, but they also rely on individual donations.

My father is a long-standing trustee of the charity, so to celebrate its 20th birthday this year, I have decided to raise money for them as part of my bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.

During June half-term, I’m embarking on a two-day, sponsored bike ride setting out from Southwold, to deliver cheques from the Charity to some of the local organisations that have just been awarded grants. I expect to cover about forty miles and although it will be quite tough, I am really looking forward to the challenge and to meeting all the people involved.

Any donations would be really appreciated and any amount will make a difference.

Many thanks- Em
