Losing your sight can be really frightening. Berkshire Vision provide vital emotional and practical support, and adapted sports and activities to over 1500 blind and visually impaired children and adults in Berkshire. We help reduce loneliness and isolation and build confidence and independence.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running the London Marathon this year for Berkshire County Blind Society. As well as helping, encouraging and supporting visually impaired adults in Berkshire, BCBS have provided information, kindness and multiple opportunities for my daughter, Grace, and other visually impaired children, through the hard work of the children's department.

Grace was born with albinism, a genetically carried condition which results in reduced piment in the skin and hair, as well as in the retina. People with albinism have reduced vision which may be profound, or slight, and which cannot be corrected with glasses. Grace is lucky to find herself at the milder end of the spectrum. Some of the children supported by BCBS have little or no vision.

In these financially difficult times, charities struggle to keep afloat, which means that any money raised through sponsorship is more valuable now than it has ever been before.

I would be very grateful for any sponsorship, pennies or pounds, to help me support this very worthwhile cause. So please donate now, if you feel able to. Every little helps and thank you so much in advance...
