Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am cycling from John O’Groats to Lands End this August with a friend of mine, Becky.  We are hopping on a train to John O’Groats on Sunday 8 of August and will hopefully be celebrating mission accomplished in Lands End 2 and a half weeks later, if all goes to plan!  We’ll be covering a total distance of over 1000 miles, facing some pretty hilly terrain, no doubt dealing with a few punctures on the way and putting a fair amount of strain on both our friendship and our bottoms!  It will all be worth it if it allows me to raise some money for Child’s i Foundation.

Child’s i Foundation was set up only a year ago by Lucy Buck (who lives just down the road from me in Rotherfield) to help put an end to the HUGE problem of child abandonment in Uganda.  The horrors of poverty, HIV/AIDS and violent conflict result in hundreds of babies as young as a few hours old being dumped by their desperate mothers in toilets, car parks, or on the roadsides of Uganda’s capital Kampala.  And with all the current care homes full, life often looks bleak – and short – for these vulnerable children.  Child’s i Foundation is working to change this situation.

I met Lucy a few weeks ago and I was immediately impressed by what she has set out to do and inspired by what she has achieved so far, which is why I’m hoping to raise some money for her charity, Child’s i Foundation, and I would be extremely grateful for any amount that you are able to donate.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer.
