Story

After donning my hiking boots and successfully climbing 19,340 feet to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro in Oct 2010 I am now taking on a new challange!!!

At 8am on FRIDAY 13TH(!!!) of May 2012, I will be reluctantly jumping out of a plane for my very first - and ONLY - SkyDive! All to raise money for the same cause as my first adventure. Kilimanjaro was the most challanging and testing experiencing of my life, as well as one of the best.

Additionally to the fundraising I was able to gather (thanks to all you generous people!) I suprised myself with my strength of mind and physical ability on the Kilimanjaro Challange.

Please dig deep and sponsor me in this truely terrifying SkyDive! :-// ...btw, I am the 'bag holder' at Alton Towers and this certainly will not come easy to me!

All this hard work will all be worthwhile if I succeed in raising £3,500 for my chosen charity. I have worked and volunteered for Shap since I was 16 years old and the charity has been a constant part of my life ever since.

SHAP exists to promote social justice, to combat poverty and to prevent homelessness.

Shap aim to enable homeless, vulnerable or disadvantaged people to take control of their own lives, and to receive the quality of housing and services to which they are entitled.

Since 1981, SHAP has provided services for young and vulnerable people in St Helens and the neighbouring boroughs: those who have been homeless, poorly housed, escaping abusive situations or leaving care. Over the years, they have housed many people at a point of crisis in their lives, given them a safe space within which they could catch up, and provided them with individual support to help them to make and carry out decisions about their own lives.

I am hoping the local community will support me in this fundraising challenge.

Colleagues from Whiston & St Helens Hospitals and people from the local community have been very generous and I hope other people in the area will sponsor me if they can.

Even a few pounds will make a huge difference and mean Shap can continue their invaluable work supporting young and vulnerable people.

Thank you all for your time and generosity!
