Auditory Verbalis a small national charity based in Oxfordshire which transforms the lives of deaf babies and children by teaching them to listen and speak. (See the video http://www.avuk.org/avukvideo.html).

Deaf children typically develop language at half the rate of their hearing peers which means a 5 year old may enter school with the language ability of a 2 ½ year old.

AV UK have worked with  hundreds of children over the past 10 years using Auditory Verbal Therapy – an intensive, family-based intervention which enables even profoundly deaf children to learn to listen and speak without the need for lip reading or sign language.

80% of the children who graduate from the program enter mainstream school with language equivalent to their hearing peers. Please visitwww.avuk.org for more stories and information.

So please dig deep and donate now.
