My children, Lily (5) and Henry (2) would love your support to run their first ever 500m charity race at the Brighton Heroes Run - the idea is that all runners dress up as a hero. Henry will be dressed as a policeman and Lily will be a spider (yes, I know).

I was watching my husband Csaba run the Brighton half marathon recently and suddenly decided that I should start running. Having never properly run further than 200m (and that was 20+ years ago), the Brighton Heroes Run 5k is extremely far from being a doddle for me - with less than 5 weeks to go, the most I've run without stopping is still only 7 minutes...

So I'm running to prove to myself that I can. And Lily and Henry are doing it for a fabulous charity, run entirely by volunteers, that builds schools and supports education in some of the poorest parts of Africa. If each of you donated just £1, everyone would be more than delighted.
