Emma's page

Emma was diagnosed with Pure Erythroid Leukaemia, a rare type of leukaemia in June 2012. At the point of diagnosis she was seriously ill.
However as a result of the hard work, care and support of the consultants and all staff at the Oncology Unit in Alderhey Hospital Emma responded amazingly well to treatment. She showed great spirit throughout which meant we could enjoy a wonderful few months with her.
Despite Emma being so resilient in every way the type of leukaemia she had was so aggressive that she tragically passed away on 7 October 2012.
We have chosen this charity for people to donate to in memory of Emma as a legacy to support vital research in the hope that a cure can one day be developed.
