Story
In less than 4 weeks time (on June 10), we will be running our first 10k race. The race starts in Pall Mall, goes through the Mersey Tunnel and finishes in New Brighton. To challenge ourselves even further, we have set ourselves a goal of completing the race within 55 minutes.
We can think of better ways to spend a Sunday, however, we are raising funds for a local charity (with a difference) called Shy Lowen. Shy Lowen means (Home of Happiness) and is a Horse and Pony Sanctuary which is based in Thornton. It is a lovely charity which rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes any horses or ponies in need and provides a safe haven for those which can’t be. Aside from this the charity works closely with young people in the local community. It holds activity days for disabled children and gives children (including those with behavioural difficulties) who generally wouldn’t get to spend time with horses, the opportunity to get to know the animals and be involved in their rehabilitation and their upkeep. To us, this charity is equally important for the local community as it is for the horses.
We appreciate that people are often asked to sponsor various causes, many of which will appear to be more important to some than this. However, it is close to our heart and any donations would be appreciated.
Thank you x
