Story

Hi guys,

An update, we all made it round a fantastic effort by the whole team.

So please get your purses/wallets out and dig deep.............

We have decided to run the cardiff half marathon on 17th October 2010, which should be entertaining as most of us can't run 13 metres let alone 13 miles and always find an excuse not to do any exercise.

The team is made up of the following people:

Emma Prosser, Christie Evans, Josh Newman, Tom Betts,Tora Fell, Scott Roberts, Will James, Sarah Beckett, Tom Villars, Lara Homan, Alison Hall, Jim Gladstone, Tim Betts, Lauren Betts, Leeann Cook, Craig Adams, Nadine Adams, Gareth Cartwright, Michael Cartwright, Richard Morris, Natalie Richards, Matthew Godfrey, Victoria Pressley & Robert Williams

To top it off some of us are aiming to do this in under 2 hours.

We are running in memory of Emma & Joshua's brother Private James Prosser of the 2nd Battalion The Royal Welsh who was killed in Afghanistan on 27th September 2009, he was only 21.

James only joined the Army in July 2008 when he went off to catterick to complete his basic training. He passed out on 6th February 2009 and flew to Afghanistan on 27th July 2009.

There is not a day goes by that we don't think of him and would give anything in this world to have him back. James loved life, his family and friends and would probably find the fact we are doing this hysterical.

We are running aid of Army Benevolent Fund - The soldiers charity

They give lifetime support to serving and retired soldiers and their families. They risk so much for us, but for them, it's "just doing their job".

The immediate help they offer is a lifeline. But they look to the future too, keeping ahead of the game, finding the best ways to give medical, technical and financial support to give the best possible outlook for the men and women who sacrifice so much for us.

When they put everything on the line it’s our job to ask for something from those of us that they serve to defend.

When they risk their lives, and everything that they hold dear, we’re here to provide them and their families with lifetime support.

James gave his tomorrow, for your today so please, please, please, please donate as much as you can to help raise money for this amazing chairty who in turn continue to help those brave men and women who contine to defend you & this country no questions asked.
