Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Sadly in 2018, my family became victims of crime and our lives were severely impacted. In the beginning, day-to-day living was difficult and our mental health suffered greatly. Even after the sentencing, our lives continued to be impacted. But, Embrace was the one charity that offered us their full support, when we felt isolated and hurt. They helped us to feel supported and not alone.
Embrace makes such a difference to children and their families by providing funding to support victims of crime and their families in their mental wellbeing and recovery by providing services that help them to grow from their trauma and fulfil their potentials and find happiness again.
At the beginning of 2019 I started couch to 5K and so began my running journey. Running helped to give me a focus and mental strength to face what was going to be a difficult time through the court trial. Since then I have not stopped running and have completed a number of half-marathons. Whilst the idea of completing a marathon overwhelms me and puts me out of my comfort zone I am determined to complete this huge milestone to give back and help support other families when they need it most. Any spare money you can give to this charity to support me and this challenge, would be really appreciated.
