I’m walking 13.3 miles from 1 Angel Square toRochdale Pioneers Museum to tackle loneliness with the Co-op and the BritishRed Cross.
Loneliness is indiscriminate - it affectspeople of all ages and backgrounds and can be found in all types ofcommunities. It can lead to a sense of despair, and emotional and mental healthproblems such as depression and anxiety. In fact, it’s reported to be twice asbad for our health as obesity.
Each year, the British Red Cross supports overone million people in the UK. The charity is present in all UK communities, providing unquestioning care and support to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Together the Co-operative and British Red Crosswill deliver radical and lasting change to support those experiencingloneliness across the UK. Together, we will provide vital support to the lonelyand isolated, reconnecting them to their communities and providing lifechanging care in their homes.
