Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for El Shaddai Charitable Trust  in Goa, India.

I have had a wonderful opportunity to look after the children in their care, meet the founders of the organisation and help implement positive changes.  El Shaddai are doing an amazing job to improve the lives of children who come from distressing situations where they suffer from abuse, neglect, starvation and homelessness. Please help me to raise money so that they can continue to rescue children and expand their work across India.

El Shaddai provide orphans, street, slum and abused children with the basic necessities of life.  The care the children receive develops their personalities and helps them to have a brighter future.  They deserve to be given a good chance in life, as their own parents can not care for them, and they really are worth it.  El Shaddai's slogan is 'Let there be no child on the streets without a proper childhood' so they need help to be able to fulfill their dream.

The charity caught my attention during a holiday in India last year. The suffering and poverty of children there can be extreme and as a westerner it is very sad to see.  I was so relieved to find out that there are people helping them to have a better life.  Anita Edgar is a wonderful woman who founded the charity after coming to Goa in 1996 with the help of an Indian couple, Matthew and Julia.  Anita started off looking after around 15 children in a small house on her own and now the charity has grown beyond her wildest dreams.  They have four children's homes, an excellent school, three day and night shelters, three cottages, meals on wheels and all kinds of projects over India to help children and families.

El Shaddai need support and donations from people who care about the suffering children in this world.
