Story

This is just so typical of my life.

I'm sitting watching a movie with my sister, musing about (a) how incredibly exciting it is that I get to teach in South Africa for the 3rd time this summer (b) how I want to do something cool and raise a whole bunch of monies for Warwick in Africa (c) how I have no physical challenges in my life and (d) how I shall have time to kill after exams and before flying to SA... suddenly it all fell into place. I stopped the movie and announced, "Lisa, we are doing the 3 peaks challenge. Oh yes."

Well one thing led to another and here we are!! Over 60 mentalists are joining me in this epic battle of wills against the 3 highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales. There has been such an outpouring of enthusiasm, support, exciting ideas and kindness - this is already a wonderful journey and I CANNOT WAIT to see the culmination on 9th-10th July!!

Please donate out of sheer pity if nothing else - I'm revising for exams unable to move half the time due to the crippling assaults on my staircase and various other cost-free activities that I call training... WATCH OUT MOUNTAINS!!!

If you get me started on what an AMAZING project Warwick in Africa is you will never shut me up, so I'll just ask you please please check out:

...for an overview of what we do and a short video narrated by Lenny Henry. I've worked in Alexandra, Johannesburg twice now - the second of these times, the heroes I was privileged to work with and I turned a community centre into a school to cater to over 300 grade 12s when SA was hit with public sector strikes in the run up the grade 12 final exams. This year I'm taking part in a pilot scheme in Stellenbosch... WiA just keeps growing and I'm proud to be a part of it.

Thank you thank you thank you for taking the time to visit this page / team and read my / our story... donations however small or large will add up to real differences in Africa. Love to everyone x
