The Prison Phoenix Trust - Yoga Aid 2009 · 31 October 2009 ·

Our trauma-sensitive yoga and meditation programmes support the rehabilitation of offenders and improve education and training opportunities for people in prison, with an evidence-based approach to enhancing wellbeing, reducing recidivism, and preparing individuals for life beyond custody.

Story

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am taking part in the Yoga Aid Challenge at the London Yoga Show on Saturday 31st October 2009.  I am raising money for a great charity called the Prison Phoenix Trust that organises yoga classes and meditation materials for prison inmates. http://www.theppt.org.uk/

In my opinion and previous experience prison's these days (especially young offender's institutes) tend to grow criminals rather than stop them, inmates come out better knowledged in the ways of crime than when they went in. The Prison Phoenix Trust is working hard to rehabilitate the inmates it works with through spiritual growth and self development aiming to bring down the high number of re-offenders.

In order to take part in the Yoga Aid Challenge I must raise at least £108
