In a couple of weeks I will be running the Surrey Badger Half Marathon http://www.eventstolive.co.uk/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=4&Itemid=14. 13 miles up and down the scenic surrey hills.

I am supporting the CATS Foundation charity (http://www.cats-foundation.org/about-us/).  This fantastic charity has touched my life personally as it has been set up by the parents of a little girl that attends Jacob's nursery, who was born with Tay Sachs disease.  Tay Sachs is a progressive neurological disorder that means that sufferers with the infantile form rarely live beyond their 5th birthday.  There is currently no cure. 

The CATS Foundation raises funds to contribute to research being undertaken by researchers in Cambridge and to support families suffering the effects of Tay Sachs through provision of specialist equipment (not available on the NHS), a support network and financing trips for treatment.  (http://www.cats-foundation.org/blogs/objectives-of-the-cats-foundation/).

I would love to raise £1000 for the charity and am so very grateful for your donations and by way of additional motivaton to donate what you can, my employer will match fund the first £500 that I raise.
