Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Now you are probably all wondering why I am doing this, well the answer is simple, it is to help all those people and families who have been unfortunates enough to live with cancer.

My main incentive for doing this is my nan, Janet Grant, she has had cancer twice and has bravely fought through it. Still wearing that amazing smile on her face and putting everyone else first.

When she was first diagnosed in 2006 no one knew what to do or how to manage the situation. Now my nan, even though she loves talking, was at first apprensive of sharing her true feelings with anyone. This is where Macmillan come in, they gave my nan the support needed for her to talk about it. They also were fantastic in providing her with information about how to live with the effects of cancer.

It is not on the physical effects that need to be addressed but also the mental - Macmillian are aware of this and make sure that they listen, then help in the relevant area for each individual.

My nan was pushed to both her limits. I know that hiking up Kilimanjaro can never be compared to what my nan or anyone who has suffered from cancer has gone through. I want to test my limits in the hope that I can raise a fantastic amount of money to help support the amazing work that Macmillan do so they can continue to help and support those brave people who have to live with cancer.

I am sure that a vast majority of people who read this page can relate to this one way or another and I would encourage anyone to please make a donation so that Macmillian can continue to provide their support.

A mere £10 can pay for 21 copies of 'The cancer guide' to help someone recently diagnosed with cancer have a better understanding of it, the treatement and help available.
