<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Kilimanjaro climb to raise money for Eden animal rescue</strong></span></p> <h3><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>We're over half way there! please help us to reach &pound;2000!<br /></strong></span></h3> <p>I hope you will sponsor me to help raise money for Eden animal rescue, a fantastic charity located in Hardendale near the village of Shap.</p> <p>They take in all kinds of animals from cats and dogs to rabbits, birds and hedgehogs - basically any animal in need that comes there way they will take in.</p> <p>No animals in their care is ever put to sleep, unless it is recommended by a qualified veterinary surgeon.</p> <p>Animals in their care recieve vaccinations, neaturing and any other treatment that they may required<span style="font-family: Verdana; font-size: x-small;"> - </span></p> <p>All paid for by Eden animal rescue</p> <p>They care for an average of 400 cats, 150 dogs not to mention the many hedgehogs, wild birds, rabbits, hamsters and lots of other animals that come there way!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>The number of animals being taken in continues to rise!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">My name is Emma Topping and I'll be tackling the heights of Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa and the worlds highest freestanding mountain at 19,340 ft!</p> <p>I want you to sponsor me to do the climb which will take me between 6 &ndash; 7 days to get to the snow covered summit depending on how quickly it takes me to acclimate.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Kiliamanjaro is composed of three extinct volcanoes and supports 5 major eco-zones; the rainforest, the heath, the moorland, the alpine desert right up to the snow covered glaciers on the summit.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">All of which I'm looking forward to hiking through!</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Kilimanjaro lies 205 miles south of the equator and stands on Tanzania's northern border with Kenya.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">Acclimatization will be the biggest challenge on Kilimanjaro as climbers die from improper acclimatization and altitude sickness rather than falls.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-decoration: none;">I'll be doing the climb on the 23rd February 2011!!!!</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-decoration: none;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-decoration: none;">The money raised will go towards the much needed refurbishing of the dog-pens in one of the outbuildings, it needs a new floor, ceiling, and there is a need to insulate the walls to keep the dogs warm in the winter months.</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in; text-decoration: none;">&nbsp;</p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">All the money raised will go directly to Eden animal rescue</span></p> <p style="margin-bottom: 0in;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><br /></span></p> <p>This place works miracles everyday with very little resources, so every single pound will count!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>So please dig deep and sponsor me now!&nbsp; Thanks :)</p>
