We are raising money for a wonderful charity by the name of Special Effect, who work with a whole variety of amazing, incredible individuals providing them with the support, loan library and opportunity to enjoy some of the best video games out there today! 

We are doing a marathon stream - for as long as we can stay awake - 24 hrs, +++ until yep, sleep comes along and takes us away! It will take place on the 20th Feb - 22nd Feb :) 

I wrote an article on accessibility in video games (link is here: http://thegamesdiary.com/2014/11/25/accessibility-within-games/) and had the opportunity to talk to Special Effect and learn more about what they do. I would be honored to take part in their special event to help raise anything I can - whether it's awareness of the work they do, money towards their loan library and their projects, or to help the very dedicated staff to continue doing what they are doing (which is helping to keep the charity alive, and the possibilities endless). 

Aside from mental health disorders, I do not suffer with a physical disability which affects my ability to play a video game. I get so much enjoyment out of them and I would want to ensure that anyone else, no matter their abilities, can enjoy these games just as much as I do. It's not a 'necessity' to some - but the enjoyment of life is a necessity to me.
