Story
I realise if you are reading my page you are probably fed up receiving endless requests for sponsorship and charity donations and I usually wouldn't ask so thank you for even taking the time to read this!!! If I still have your attention, please read on...
I am currently training for my first ever half marathon which will take place in Amsterdam on 16th October 2016. I have a heck of a lot of work to do to ensure I even reach the finish line and am focusing on distance...not speed!!!
Women who are sadly diagnosed with ovarian cancer need all the support emotionally and medically that they can get. I hope that any donations we can make will help, most importantly, in the early diagnostics stage of this horrific cancer. It is a cause very close to my heart and I have lost relatives to ovarian cancer. This has inspired me to run and raise whatever money I can.
My hope is that in the future this charity will have adequate funding to provide testing for girls who have a family history of ovarian cancer, at a younger age. At present such testing occurs often when it is too late and charities such as Target Ovarian Cancer can help change this for future generations. Early diagnosis is key and this is what I hope will vastly improve in the future.
