Story
The South West Coast Path has a long and unique history as a route for intrepid travellers, tin miners, smugglers and the Customs Men that chased them. Today challenges continue with battles against coastal erosion, landslips, cuts in grants and rising maintenance costs. Yet if you’ve walked even a few steps along it to gaze out over the blue ocean then you know it’s worth every penny we invest in it to preserve it as an escape from the modern world for future generations.
Based in South Cornwall our office staff all live, love and long for the coast path and so we are supporting a project in the Fowey area to repair ancient sunken paths and unique old stone stiles that form part of the route. Visit our website for more info.
We are participating in a mass sponsored walk in April to celebrate 40 years of the official coast path route and through our Visitor Payback scheme we are asking all our walking holiday customers in 2013, to donate a few pounds to keep their walking holidays low impact and sustainable. Finally our Walker Friendly accommodation providers across the West Country are also supporting the Associations work through this site.
Please give whatever you can to help us protect a trail that continues to bring happiness, hope anda sense of freedom to countless visitors year after year.
